New Iamges - Carnival 2006

As promised I have updated the site with some more images. The Medieval Market was held way back in October 2005, but haven't been loaded due to lack of time !!. Held in the shadow of the Arabic Castle this event proved to be so popular that it will probably be returning later this year. Local produce and crafts featured heavily and were supported by street entertainers in arabic garb.

The Carnival this year (2006) was absolutely unbelievable - a week long celebration, including Andalucia Day and a number of parades. The effort and participation put into this event is a testament to the locals of this small "pueblos blanco". I have included only a fraction of the images I took - I could have filled the site with images of the final parade alone !!. More images of the Andalucia Day events in the Town Hall square will follow later.

The next major event for the area will be Semana Santa - just a couple of weeks away and promising to give even more photo opportunities. And only a week after that will be Lunes de Quasimodo......
