Avista Andaluz Photography

Welcome to Avista Andaluz - a site containing various portfolios of images from around the Andalucia region of Southern Spain, and other places I have visited on my travels.

Far away from the bustle and noise of the Coast, deep in the interior of Andalucia lie the famous Los Pueblos Blancos, the white villages. Here we have it all from the stunning, mighty grey granite of the mountain ranges, turquoise lakes with sandy beaches for swimming, acres of olive groves, an abundance of wild and varied flora set in the famous red and yellow soils of the area, birds of prey including the Griffin Vulture, home to the Iberian Lynx and Egyptian Mongoose, castles and fortifications, bulls and flamenco. True Bandit land, the areas are interspersed with caves which were home to the famous “Serranos” mountaineers and goat herds and herders who could have stepped from the annals of time, are always ready to stop and pose for you. A land steeped in history.
